The disintegration of the national government has then caused a socio-economic, infrastructure and environmental disaster; water shortages were the major problem.
Hawd areas, including Buhodle Region, became vast populated with very low efficiency of water avails for both human and livestock and whilst of beckets destroyed pastoral lands and environmental outcomes; nevertheless, the situation is urging to find for other alternatives and sources of water and means of environmental protection.
In accordance of these reasons, a group of intellectual and technicians initiated to the above involved to care such sectors in Buhodle Region area and decided the establishing of this organization for the Water Development and Environment Protection steps for forwarding of implementing the sustainability of water systems towards environment caring constitution.
However, the community of Cayn region particularly encouraged the formulation of this needy NGO, and in many times, they collected money for these sectors and handed over DWEP to facilitate the rehabilitation projects to relatively inaccessible areas.
Dayah Water development & environment protection Organization “DWEP” is among the first NGO that has been established in Buhodle Region for the facilitation of the Water and Environment of their area; the main purpose of establishing this NGO is to maintain and develop water wells, damps, and berkets and also to promote awareness programs and implement development projects for the protection of the environment in all.
